Campaign Spring 2011

In the light of many proposed changes to the way health care and social care is provided by the Coalition Government we have been working harder than ever to ensure the voices of people with muscular dystrophy are heard by those making the decisions that affect people’s lives. In this issue we outline the campaigns we have been working on, focusing on issues that matter to people living with muscle wasting conditions that were outlined in the results of our patient survey.

In this issue we also outline the results of a three year study at Oxford University funded by MDC. This exciting research has enabled scientists to identify a genetic fault which causes congenital myasthenic syndrome (CMS) and discovered an effective treatment for the condition.
