Talk to the media or appear in our publications
Talking about the experiences of the people we support helps us communicate what we do, and why we do it, with more impact - the general public can see how real people are affected by neuromuscular conditions. This type of volunteering work may involved being photographedor interviewed by local and national media.
If you’d like to volunteer to tell your story in one of our publications or to the media, or if you have an issue that you want to raise through the media, email our press office at press@muscular-dystrophy.org.
Campaigns
There are many burning issues facing people affected by muscular dystrophy and related disorders. In order for campaigns to have a chance of success we need people who are keen to be active at the “grass roots”. Whether you want to simply write to your MP or local council, or you’d like to work with others in your area to lobby and publicise the issues that are important to you, together our voices can have real power. With your help, webelieve we can become a force for change and improvement in services.

The Muscular Dystrophy Campaign’s Trustees play a vital role in the running of the charity. Trustees have a real influence on the strategic direction of the organisation and are tasked with ensuring that the charity is running smoothly. Trustees are elected by our members, but there are also additional places for people who can be co-opted between elections. If you are interested in becoming a Trustee, email info@muscular-dystrophy.org

Serve on one of our committees
The Muscular Dystrophy Campaign’s research funding and its care services are overseen by two important committees – the Medical Research Committee (MRC) and the Clinical Research & Care Committee.Although both of these committees are made up mainly of specialists, it is important that Muscular Dystrophy Campaign members and users of our services are represented on them as well.
There is also a Joseph Patrick Trust Grants Panel which agrees who, of the people who have applied, will receive grants towards equipment and wheelchairs.
If you are interested in finding out more about these committees and the possibility of getting involved, either contact Head Office or email info@muscular-dystrophy.org
