Bob Abbott a 60 year old retired teacher from Plymouth is embarking on a huge personal challenge to cycle from Lands End to John O Groats to raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign.

He will begin his ride on 9th May and plans to arrive at John O Groats on 24th May.

His wife, Liz, will be following him all the way in a back up vehicle and son Tom will be joining his dad at Bristol and cycling part of the route with him.

Bob kickstarted his fundraising by training for 3 hours on a static cycle at a local shopping centre in preparation for the ride and thanks to the generosity of shoppers raised almost £200 on the day.

Bob’s older brother had Muscular Dystrophy and his positive and fun loving attitude to life has been the inspiration for this ride.

Bob is paying his own expenses for the trip and hopes that people will give generously to support his efforts.
