Fundraising Fun Run
19 May 2006

"The Enfield Council Temporary Accommodation Team were coaxed and cajoled into taking part in the Mayor’s charity 10km fun run on 7 May 2006 and formed the team FIT 4 T.A.T. Despite various pleas of "I can’t run" or "tricky knee" everyone who agreed to take part turned up on the day and most people surprised themselves with the result they got.
Everyone made it round and our fastest runner, Colin Cooke, clocked up 47min 20sec. Even the walkers were done within an hour and a half. We also had a team of TAT juniors, which were Holly Calenti and Luc Wafford who completed the 3km with their parents. Approximately £747 has been raised for the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign through sponsorship.
"It was an excellent day and, despite the aches and pains for the next few days, everyone thoroughly enjoyed it. Now it’s time to get training for next year!!"
"The team chose to raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign because they work with Yvonne Porter, whose grandson has Duchenne muscular dystrophy. A huge thanks from all at MDC to those involved.
