John producing his paintings from photos of interest
John Taylor has Facioscapulohumeral Dystrophy. Following early retirement, he has developed interests in Art, photography and Computers. John is photographed here at his home, where his three interests compliment each other to assist in producing paintings which are regularly exhibited and sold.
John uses a scooter to
get out and about with
his digital camera. The photographs are scanned into his computer and printed on his colour printer. Then in his own studio, he uses pastels or oils to produce his artwork.
John recently completed an Open University Degree in Art History and Philosophy. “My fingers and hands get cramps and the muscles are weak, so I recently bought some voice recognition software, although my FSH and Northern Ireland accent are a bit of a challenge.” John uses a Posturite board which is height adjustable and magnetic to support his books and papers, and recommends a Sheafer.
