Over 200 people enjoyed a great night at the Medicine Ball organised by the Medway Branch at the St George Hotel in Rochester.

Guests were greeted by a 12 piece saxophone ensemble and treated to dazzling illusions from Marc Lememza whilst enjoying a glass of Bucks Fizz in the Stanley House Ballroom bar. After a superb dinner an exciting live auction of a helicopter trip and a day at the London Golf Club raised £1,260.

The evening was attended by the Medway Branch President Mr Paul Clark MP who helped Rupert Bear draw the winners of the grand raffle. Prizes including a chauffeur driven London theatre trip with dinner, a case of top wines, a family photo shoot, a meal for two at a top restaurant and a luxury hamper from the Body Shop.

Favourite lots were tickets to see Robbie Williams, a signed Newcastle United Shirt, tickets to see Take That and Golf Lessons. Medway Branch Secretary Paul Hussey said “The evening was an outstanding success and thanks to the help of our supporters and generosity of the guests an amazing £8,500 was raised”.

Arrangements for next year's Medicine Ball are already underway and it is due to take place on Friday 9 March 2007.
