Medway Branch - a fundraising success story
A relativey new group, the Medway Branch is looking for volunteers to join their successful team of fundraisers. Here is a taste of what they achieved in 2006.
In March 2006 the team hosted the Medicine Ball Dinner Dance at the St. George Hotel, Chatham, raising over £8,500.
In June supporters of the Medway Branch took part in the St. Albans marathon to raise a total of £4,000. The following month saw a team of friends from Medway enter the London Triathlon and collect sponsorship of over £2,000. In August, the West Sussex Fire Service took part in a bucket collection through the pubs of Crawley to raise £1,900 for the Branch.
The following month saw teams from all over the area taking part in the 'Medway MDC It's Knockout' at the Star Meadow Club in Gillingham. The participants raised a fantastic £4,000.In October, the Medway MDC Golf Tournament took place at the award-winning Chart Hills Course, designed by Nick Faldo. Forty golfers stepped out into the autumn sunshine to raise money for the Branch, and together they raised over £2,500.
Plans for 2007
Medicine Ball - St. George Hotel, Chatham. Over 200 guests will enjoy live music and dancing and take part in a live auction – Can you help us bring in some big prizes?.Parachute Jump - Headcorn. A weekend of jumps for thrill seekers. Do you know any daredevils who would take part?
100 Club - A monthly prize draw. Can you help us make it to 500?
