John Peck's last day in the darkroomAfter spending 55 years working in dark rooms, John Peck has now gone digital.

This photograph was taken on the last day John worked in his dark room at Anzac cottage. On this momentous occasion he produced a limited print edition of the photograph that forms the front cover of his book, Painting a mine with light.

These 16x12 prints can be purchased for £20.00 (plus postage and packing) and all the proceeds from the sales will go to the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign. It is also possible to purchase posters with the same picture but with the slogan Cornish Tin for Britain for £4.00 plus postage and packing, proceeds from this will also be donated to the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign.

Cornwall Ltd Edition PrintJohn began his photographic career as a wedding photographer in Harrow. In the 1960s he moved to Cornwall and in 1972 was employed to take some photographs at Wheal Jane for an exhibition. Following this initial contract the mine began to realise the benefits of having a professional photographer and John would be requested to photograph many aspects of mining. John spent the next 20 years capturing Wheal Jane at work.

This is a unique opportunity to own a piece of history and donate money to a good cause. To purchase the prints visit the website www.johnpeckhandson.co.uk or contact Lynne Hodgson, Regional Fundraising Manager on 01752 228128.
