After twelve years of active fundraising and support the Bath Branch has sadly closed.

The Branch was formed in 1993 by Angela Lambert and started with a talk in the local village where almost 150 people turned up to find out more about the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign. This resulted in eight people joining the committee and the formation of the Bath 200 Club which attracted some 500 members who contributed monthly to the club.

"In excess of £140,000 was raised for the charity over the years and our sincere thanks go to everyone involved."

The Branch’s first event was a dinner and dance involving local businesses and friends and with a ‘spirit of fun’ always at the forefront the branch grew from strength to strength with events such as the River Avon duck race, classical music concerts, fashion shows, easter fayres, charity lunches, dinners and golf days.

Supporting and working closely with the MDC Care Advisors (then Family Care Officers), the Branch also raised funds to support individual appeals for local children in need of powered wheelchairs and specialist bed equipment. In excess of £140,000 was raised for the charity over the years and our sincere thanks go to everyone involved.

Our best wishes go to Angela, her husband and the many friends and supporters of the Bath Branch who have made such a wonderful contribution to the ongoing work of the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign.

If you live in the Bath area and have a few spare hours available every now and again then we would love to hear from you - the Branch still has a few collection boxes in and around the area which need someone to collect and empty.
