An introduction to Becker
The muscular dystrophies are a group of genetic disorders, which cause muscle weakness and/or wasting. Becker muscular dystrophy was first recognised in 1956 and is now known to be a much milder form of Duchenne muscular dystrophy. Becker muscular dystrophy generally affects only males. An introduction to Becker muscular dystrophy

Dr R Roberts
Year 1 - £25,200
Dr Roberts wishes to investigate which, if any, proteins interact with the “rod” region of the dystrophin protein (the protein that is missing in Duchenne muscular dystrophy) in order to find out more about it's function both in muscle and non-muscle cells.
