Face it! Live it! Change it! was the title of the Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy (PPMD) Annual Conference which took place from 13-16 July, 2006 in Cincinnati - Ohio. Thirty-six scientists and clinical experts for muscular diseases presented, first, reviews about the entire knowledge of Duchenne muscular dystrophy and about the different approaches for therapy (Face it!), then recommendations for the medical management (Live it!), and finally their latest research results that come closer and closer to an effective treatment (Change it!).

Günter Scheuerbrandt, a biochemist from Germany, on request from Patricia Furlong, the founder and president of PPMD, has written a report for the boys with duchenne about each successful steps towards an effective treatment.

The report contains the summaries of the scientific presentations and is not a scientific publication. It is written in a language that is easy to understand and most importantly all scientific expressions are explained. All Scientists, whose presentations are part of this report, have had the opportunity to see the draft and have made corrections where necessary.
