A supporter's view
An account of the debate on Thursday 8 June by Stephen McDonald, Vice Chairman of East MDC Scottish Council
"It was a real pleasure to meet all the MPs and appreciate their genuine support for the My Life campaign.
"Having been directly impacted by muscular dystrophy, and having sat on our Scottish Council for several years, I feel this has been the most
significant postive event in my time of involvement.
"I am hopeful it will lead not only to improvements in the provision of wheelchairs and living adaptations for people with muscular dystrophy across Scotland, but has helped raise the profile of the campaign significantly amongst the members of the Scottish Parliament, which can only be positive to our overall aims.
"I will be closely following the next steps with interest and hope that this can allow people with muscular dystrophy to see real improvements in both their access to the right support at the right time, and see potentially increased Government investment in the search for treatments and potential cures for these life limiting diseases."
