Christmas with Tesco
Add an extra special gift from Tesco to your loved ones' Christmas stocking this year and help children affected by muscular dystrophy and related muscle-wasting diseases in your community.
Buying the following products over the festive period will all help add money to the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign's £3 million Giving children equipment to be independent appeal.
Personalised photo calendars
A classic Christmas gift with a personal touch - Tesco Photo's personalised calendars allow gift-givers everywhere to have their favourite snaps turned into a unique year-planner.
For every Photo Calendar sold until Christmas Eve, Tesco Photo will donate 20% of sales to the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign for an expected overall donation of at least £60,000. Photo Calendars are available in stores with in-store photo processing and online at www.tescophoto.com.
Christmas cards
Tesco Greeting Cards aim to raise a staggering £250,000 throughout the year. Their Christmas range includes 11-year-old Samantha Ridgway's winning picture from the Design-a-Card for Christmas competition, which will be sold in stores for £1 with 50p donated per sale.
Tesco will also be donating 10p for every card sold from the rest of their charity range, while sales of boxed Christmas cards will provide £700,000 to be split equally between three charities - the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign, Hearing Dogs for the Deaf and Macmillan Cancer Support.
Gift cards
Five-year-old Bradley Addison from Birmingham, who has Duchenne muscular dystrophy, has designed a brand new playground picture gift card that is being sold in Tesco stores across the UK.
The new design is available in over 600 shops and, with Tesco donating 50p for every one of Bradley's £10 Gift Cards sold, it is estimated that up to £20,000 will be added to the Giving children equipment to be independent campaign.
Cash machines at Tesco
Tesco Bank's support of the Charity of the Year partnership means that customers can even help raise money without spending a penny. 0.0125p will be donated to the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign every time a cash machine at Tesco is used, providing a free way for customers to help raise an expected £50,000.
Please note that card issuers may charge for credit card cash advances and transactions for cards issued outside of the UK.
Adnams lighthouse beer
Suffolk brewer Adnams is raising a glass to charity by backing the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign as Tesco Charity of the Year 2009. The independent beer maker has generously agreed to donate 10p for every bottle of Lighthouse pale ale sold - a gesture matched by Tesco that is expected to raise at least £20,000.
The 3.4% ABV Lighthouse recipe blends Maris Otter and Crystal malted barleys with traditional hop varieties to produce a spicy, herbal tone that fills the palate.
Kite biscuits
Get dunking this Christmas to raise £3,000 for the Giving children equipment to be independent campaign with our limited edition kite biscuits.
The specially-made biscuits will feature the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign's distinctive kite logo in icing and are available to buy from in-store bakeries across the country until the end of February 2010. Each biscuit will be sold for 79p with 5p donated to the Tesco partnership.
