Who you are helping
Kate and Rod have a beautiful four-year-old daughter called Eden. She is happy at school, has lots of friends and enjoys all the typical ‘girly’ things that four-year-olds love. Eden was diagnosed with congenital muscular dystrophy when she was just a baby, it has left her unable to stand without help as her muscles are very weak.
Eden tries her hardest to walk but sometimes a few steps is all she can manage and she then has to rely on her parents to push her in her wheelchair.
The Muscular Dystrophy Campaign is providing funding for important research into the genes responsible for several forms of congenital muscular dystrophy, if the scientists can understand and identify these genes then they will be a step closer to approaching possible treatments.
