Special Events Intern - London
What's the role?
We need an enthusiastic volunteer to help out with one of our biggest fundraising events, the Four Course Classic. This exciting nationwide golf challenge is fast becoming one of the biggest golf events in the UK, and we need help making it even bigger in 2011.
What will I be doing?
You’ll be helping us to formulate and implement marketing plans, build and consolidate relationships with golfers and courses, and drive the success of the event.
This is a great opportunity to develop skills in events management while supporting a worthy cause. If you have a passion for events, marketing, PR or fundraising we would love to hear from you.
What skills and experience do I need?
Previous experience in marketing, PR or events management would be useful, but we can provide training on each of these areas as well. The volunteer will be managed and mentored by the head of events and will have lots of opportunities to work with other departments to maximise the success of the event.
No previous knowledge of golf is needed.
What are the hours?
As much time as you are able to give! We would like you to spend one to three days on the event per week, and we'd need you for a minimum of three months.
What experience will I gain?
By working in the events team you'll gain a greater understanding of fundraising events and will develop skills in marketing and communications. A committed volunteer will be able to develop further their knowledge of all aspects of events fundraising and help the busy events team with their extensive portfolio.
Can I claim expenses?
We can reimburse all of your travel expenses (to be pre-agreed) and if you're doing a full day we cover your lunch expense up to the value of £5.
I'm interested - what do I do now?
All you need to do is send us your CV and a few lines on what you're looking for, and why you're interested in this volunteering role.
