Working for you
We offer free advocacy support and want to hear from anyone who is experiencing difficulties with their local services
We're here to fight for your rights - contact the Campaigns Team for advocacy support. Phone us on 020 7803 4847 or email campaigns@muscular-dystrophy.org
We want to put an end to the kind of shocking muscular dystrophy statistics which were revealed in our recent patient survey:
- half of patients have no access to a specialist neuromuscular consultant
- 50% of patients do not have an NHS funded wheelchair
- more than 50% of patients do not have access to a physiotherapist
The Campaigns team are here to help anyone affected by muscle disease who is experiencing difficulties with social care, education, access to specialist health care services and employment rights issues.
Read how the Campaigns team fought to help A'level student Michaela after she encountered discrimination when applying to go to university. Read Michaela’s story.
Michaela is now a member of Trailblazers – our young campaigner’s network. Over 110 young people with muscle disease from across the UK have joined forces with Michaela and are fighting for their rights. Visit the site and learn more about the group’s exciting campaigns and how you can join.
