Donate shares
ShareGift is an independent registered charity that was set up to make it easy for you to give shares to benefit UK charities. It specialises in accepting small holdings of shares, particularly those which are not worth selling. It also helps people with larger gifts of shares.
ShareGift works with companies, stockbrokers, charities and other organisations across the UK. When you donate shares they will be pooled with other donated shares until there are enough to sell. ShareGift’s Trustees then give the proceeds to charities. Using the form on this website means that the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign continues to benefit. To donate shares, please fill in the donation coupon and post it with the share certificates that you would like to donate to:

ShareGift will send you the relevant transfer form(s) which you need to complete and return to them. If you would like to donate shares from a nominee account or if you can’t find your share certificates please contact ShareGift for further advice on 020 7930 3737 or at www.sharegift.org
If you’re a UK taxpayer, you can claim income tax relief on the value of most stocks and securities when you donate them to charity. In addition, donating shares to charity gives rise to neither a gain nor a loss for Capital Gains Tax (CGT) purposes. For example, if you’re a higher rate taxpayer, for every £100 worth of shares you donate to us, your income tax bill could be reduced by £40.
