The Q Trust

The Q Trust is a Muscular Dystrophy Campaign appeal set up by Mark Reynolds in memory of his friend Quentin Crewe.

Quentin Crewe - known to many as Q - was a celebrated journalist, writer and society figure.  He travelled extensively and lived in places as varied as Japan, France, India and the Sahara Desert.  He chronicled his many exploits, his huge circle of friends and his many travels in a very entertaining autobiography, Well, I Forget The Rest (1991), and wrote many other acclaimed books, mostly on travel or food.  Although he was a wheelchair user from his 20s, Quentin resolutely refused to let it stop him doing anything.

In 2001, the 75th anniversary of Quentin's birth, Mark Reynolds set-up The Q Trust and announced a £1 million fundraising target. A brilliant, funny and generous man, Mark worked tirelessly to raise awareness and support for others with muscle disease until he passed away in 2005 as a result of his condition.

The Q Trust committee is made up of friends and family of Quentin Crewe and Mark Reynolds; they hope that the lives of these two extraordinary men will inspire other children and adults affected by muscle disease.  They also raise money to fund care for people with muscle disease and research into effective treatments and cures.
