Q Trust fundraising

The Q Trust fundraises in memory of Quentin Crewe and Mark Reynolds

Since it began in 2005 The Q Trust has made a huge impact, both in raising awareness of muscle disease and improving the lives and possibilities for people living with these conditions.

Support has been given to paediatric muscle services at Great Ormond Street and formerly at Hammersmith Hospital, the Oxford Muscle and Nerve Centre and its Regional Care Advisor, and pioneering research.

Thanks to the hard work of The Q Trust committee and the generosity of our supporters the current fundraising total has now exceeded £800,000.

The funds raised by current Q Trust donations will be used to support the vital work of the Dubowitz Muscle Centre. The Centre is made up of a clinical diagnostic and academic team and is based at Great Ormond Street Hospital.

Ben C explains the important role of the muscle centre:

It is an amazing place, with the whole team going above and beyond the call of duty to help me. It is absolutely vital that they are based in one Centre as I can then arrange to see them all on one day, which for someone who finds it extremely difficult to get about is essential.

The Centre benefits from the excellent facilities for children at the site whilst also working collaboratively with the nearby Adult Neuromuscular Centre at the Institute of Neurology. They provide the highest quality of care and advice for families, a well-linked service as the child matures into adulthood and high calibre training for young student clinicians, scientists and physiotherapists.
