Occupational therapists
We set up the Occupational Therapists Network network in 2007 to bring together occupational therapists who work with those living with with muscle disease, and their carers.
Staff working in all areas of health, social care and housing are welcome to join.
The network aims to ensure a national standard of best practice by members working in the field and provide:
- an expert body of skills and knowledge in muscle disease
- a platform to review information on specific clinical issues
- a forum for clinical networking and peer support
whilst promoting:
- the role of the OT to children and adults with the neuromuscular field
- the use of evidence-based practice within this specialised clinical area
and developing:
- collaborative working with other established neuromuscular networks
- access to continuing professional development (CPD) opportunities through conferences, study days and courses
It is free to join the network. Members receive updates on training opportunities for professionals as well as details of information and study days and social events for patients.
You may also find it helpful to order a free copy of:
- Adaptations Manual, CD version
- Wheelchair Provisions for children and adults with muscular dystrophy and other neuromuscular conditions
