Benefits

Within the benefits system there is a range of means-tested and non-means-tested benefits. People with significant care needs (including children cared for by parents) or with significant mobility difficulties may be entitled to the non-means-tested Disability Living Allowance (or Attendance Allowance for those over 65 years old with care needs).

Bereavement and counselling

To lose someone you love or hearing that your child, a family member, a friend or yourself have been diagnosed with a neuromuscular condition may lead to confused and overwhelming feelings. For some people, it helps to talk to someone within the family or with friends.

Blue Badges

The Blue Badge scheme is a way of making parking easier for people with severe walking difficulties. The scheme applies to those who travel either as drivers or passengers.
