Care Advisors

There are a number of Regional Care Advisors across UK that are there to support you. The majority of the Regional Care Advisors are funded by the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign. In a few cases the local NHS Trusts jointly finance the posts with the charity.

Children

The Muscular Dystrophy Campaign has produced a range of materials for children and/or parents.





Clothing and fashion

The Muscular dystrophy Campaign has produced a clothing and fashion factsheet that lists contact details for suppliers.



Community care

Children and adults who have difficulties with personal care such as washing, dressing and feeding have the right to a Community Care Assessment from the local Social Services Department.



Counselling and bereavement

Hearing that your child, a family member, a friend or yourself have been diagnosed with a neuromuscular condition may lead to confused and overwhelming feelings. The Muscular Dystrophy Campaign has produced a factsheet about where to get help with dealing with your feelings.
