How will my condition affect me?
All conditions affect the muscles in some way and most affect a range of different muscles or become more severe as they progress. A number of conditions can affect other types of muscle in the body, for example the heart. Treatment is available for this so you may be advised to have a regular heart check up.
Conditions can range from having minimal effect, through to being disabling, or in some cases, shortening length of life. It is essential therefore that those living with a condition have good communication with the team of professionals involved in their care, along with accurate information and appropriate support.
