Disability Horizons social meet up a success

Disability Horizons held their first London meet up last Saturday at the National Theatre. People from across London met to chat, make new friends and have fun.

Disability Horizons is online magazine aimed at creating positive and interesting articles and resources for people with disabilities and to promote a positive image of disability. They aim to have hold more social meet ups and would like to make these events as inclusive as possible, so if you are disabled, work in the disability field or neither but are interested in coming along, everyone is welcome.

The Muscular Dystrophy Campaign is working with Disability Horizons to develop this project further and to expand the project to other areas of the UK.

Claire Kelleher, Information Manager the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign attended the meet up, she said:

It was wonderful to meet new people on Saturday as well as see some familiar faces, everyone had a good time and talked about things they cared about. I look forward to working with Srin and Martyn from Disability Horizons to help develop this exciting project further.

We would like to hear your views on Disability Horizons social meet ups. Would you be willing to attend one of these events if they were in your area? What would you expect to get out of the day? Please contact the Information Team on 0800 652 6352 or info@muscular-dystrophy.org
