2012 Oxford Town and Gown 10k - the results

The Muscular Dystrophy Campaign would like to say well done and thank you to everyone who took part in the 2012 Oxford Town and Gown 10k run on Sunday 13 May.

More than 3,000 people registered this year to take part in the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign's Oxford Town and Gown 10k. We had everyone from elite club runners to those in fancy dress, marking the 31st consecutive year that Oxford has hosted this event. The charity relies on fundraising to provide support to people affected by muscular dystrophy and related conditions, so we are extremely grateful for the money they have raised.

Race organiser Alun Mainwaring said:

The 31st Oxford Town and Gown has been one of the best yet. Together, you are set to raise a fantastic £100,000 to help us beat muscular dystrophy and related conditions. The charity cannot thank you all enough for your support."

A special thank you

The Muscular Dystrophy Campaign would like to thank TMS for helping to set up the course. Without their road furniture and hard work, the race simply could not happen. We are also grateful to the Oxford Mail for their media partnership - their support as been much appreciated.  Thank you also to Matalan for supplying the race T-shirts and TI Automotive for sponsoring this year's medals.

The race would not have been possible without the help of our wonderful volunteers, who gave up their Sunday morning to ensure the event ran smoothly. Many thanks go to them.

Finally, a special thank you must go to our dedicated race committee who have voluntarily organised the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign's Oxford Town and Gown 10k for the past three years. Their tireless energy and enthusiasm have made the day possible.
