100 days to go until the 'biggest ever' Paralympics
In just 100 days London will play host to the biggest Paralympic Games ever. With 4,200 elite athletes from 165 countries descending on the capital, we are set for an unprecedented summer of sporting spectacle.
The Muscular Dystrophy Campaign is looking forward to cheering on ParalympicsGB, we will have our fingers crossed for medal hopefuls in the swimming and Boccia events.
Boccia medal contender Stephen McGuire, who has an undiagnosed form of muscular dystrophy, will compete this Thursday in the Paralympic World Cup Boccia event in Manchester. He and brother Pete were featured in Target MD in January, as two of four young men with muscular dystrophy and related conditions who are hopeful of medal glory for GB Boccia at London 2012’s Paralympics.
Raring to go in the run up to the games, Stephen said,
Being selected to represent ParalympicsGB at a home Games in London, alongside my brother Peter, is one of the proudest moments in my life."
