Sue and Bob Mulvey, their fellow Brothers, and Anna Clarkson of the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign at the cheque presentation © Tyrian Lodge A Masonic Lodge in Eastbourne has raised more than £2,000 for the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign following a hugely successful fundraising year led by the lodge’s Worshipful Master, Bob Mulvey and his wife Sue. Bob of Eastbourne’s Tyrian Lodge and Sue wanted to raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign as Bob’s father had the muscle wasting condition. The couple also raised money for Marie Curie Cancer Care and gave a generous donation to the Masonic charity for Sussex.

Together Bob and Sue organised a range of events throughout the year from a barbeque, to an auction and a ladies night. The events generated tremendous support from the Masons and many local Eastbourne businesses and raised £5,500 in total for their three chosen charities.

A cheque for £2,000 each was presented to the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign and Marie Curie Cancer Care on Saturday 28 October by Bob and Sue. The remaining £1500 was donated to the Masonic Charities.

Assistant Grand Master of Sussex, Worshipful Brother Joe Wilkins was present at the presentation and said, “Bob, Sue and the Brethren of Tyrian Lodge have displayed true Masonic spirit in raising and donating this magnificent sum for charity”.

Bob Mulvey said, “All this would not have been possible without the valuable support of many local businesses, the masons and their families and friends. Both Sue and I want to thank everyone for their dedicated support throughout my year as Worshipful Master. We are thrilled to have raised such a significant sum of money for three charities so close to our hearts.”
