Research grants
The Muscular Dystrophy Campaign considers applications for research funding in accordance with its research strategy. This includes research into more than 60 different types of muscle disease.
The charity has an application process is in place that involves a rigorous peer review so that only the best research is funded.
This also ensures that the research is:
- in line with current trends
- avoids duplication of international efforts
- will significantly increase the understanding of muscle function
- will guarantee a speedy bench-to-bedside transition of promising technology
Grant types
1. Pump-priming grants for up to one year. We will cover any combination of salaries (excluding the Principal Investigator) and/or consumables up to a maximum of £30,000. Deadline for applications is 5pm Wednesday 14 December 2011.
2. Clinical Training and Research Fellowships for 2 or 3 years. Costs can include the salary of the Clinical Fellow and up to £5000 per year for consumables. Fees will not normally be covered. Deadline for applications is 5pm Tuesday 17 January 2012.
